We were so sad to hear about the passing of America’s Coach Jeff Galloway this past Wednesday at the age of 80. Jeff was so important to our own running journeys, as his Run-Walk-Run method has gotten us out on the streets and trails and over finish lines again and again. We will miss Jeff so much, and he will always be in our hearts as we continue to run (walk-run) into and beyond our middle age. To honor him we decided to rerelease our interview with Jeff from July 2022. Topics range from pro-walking to winning marathons to exercise psychology to the history of running for fitness in America

As we approach Thanksgiving, we thought it would be fun to do an episode about how choosing an attitude can improve your health in middle age. We chat about how deciding to engage in the practice of gratefulness can lower cortisol, build new neural pathways that make hope easier to access, decrease everything from depression to digestive problems, and reframe your entire life. Not bad, huh? Also the values of putting your runs in a schedule, having a mantra that works for you(!), and building the most important things in your life out of garbage. After so many years of trying to figure out if running is really for everyone, the Gomers decide to face the question head on. We know ourselves better than in Season 1, when it was all about learning the rules, finding the correct form, running the right speed, and being the right weight. How have things changed since then? And have we found the exercise that’s right for us? We have a brand new three-legged-stool image to help us figure it out! Plus diet culture, “just-make-it-work” weeks, cooler weather, rigid regimes, and rubbers for the legs of your living room chairs. Happy Running! Our C
