Moses was a prophet-leader. Moses used a rod as a tool in his assignment. Joshua was a warrior-leader. Joshua held a spear as a tool in his assignment. Even though Joshua was trained under Moses for 40 years, Joshua didn’t just try to “copy” Moses. God did not instruct Joshua to use a rod like Moses did. Joshua needed to use the “ways and methods” that were relevant to God’s assignment on his life. God works in different ways and uses different methods and tools over time. While the Word and the Anointing do not change, the tools, ways and methods used to minister God’s Word and minister under
Life is lived in seasons. God orders the seasons of our lives. Seasons change. Based on Joshua 5:10-12 we reflect on God's dealings with His people: In the WILDERNESS God provided MANNA from heaven as His people were in transition. In the PROMISED LAND they had to work the ground for PRODUCE as free people. MANNA was God's provision and blessing on obeying Him, during the JOURNEY. The PRODUCE was God's provision and blessing in obeying Him, by WORKING. In the WILDERNESS or in the PROMISED LAND, God was interested in their hearts being faithful and obedient to Him. We discuss some practical ins

In this sermon we examine Jesus' primary reason in giving us the parable of the unjust steward. We highlight key lessons that the Lord Jesus taught us from this parable: Use money to build friendships. Be faithful and honest in little things. Be faithful in money. Be faithful in what is another persons'. Be faithful to God - you cannot serve two masters. We also consider parallel texts including Matthew 6:19-24 that teaches us about guarding our heart, and our eye, so we serve God, and not money. Our heart and vision (focus) must be on God. This will ensure we serve God and master money. Watch
In this third sermon on Stewardship Parables, we consider the parable of the workers and draw understanding about how God’s Kingdom operates. We learn that God overturns human ranking systems. Everyone received the same, indicating God's way of working. Key lessons we take away, include: A. Never compare yourself with others or other ministries. B. God rewards everyone as He sees best. C. Keep a humble heart when you are blessed with an early start and long service. D. Don't think you are superior because you are rewarded quicker and same as others who have labored long. E. A right heart is mo

Faithfulness and profitability are rewarded with increase. We also discuss the Kingdom Law of Stewardship given in this text: Everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he
In this sermon series on Stewardship Parables, that the Lord Jesus taught we examine the parable of the wise servant. We gain a Biblical understanding of stewardship and the five responsibilities of stewardship. We discuss the three characteristics of good stewardship - being faithful, wise, committed. We also uncover the three wrong attitudes in stewardship: complacency, abuse and self-indulgence. We learn that good stewardship is to know, prepare and do the Master's will. All of us are stewards of the gifts, grace and mysteries (revelation) God has given to each of us. Each of us must fulfil
In Scripture God uses elements of nature to reveal certain aspects about His nature and His Person. We see many examples in Scripture: God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29), like the wind (John 3:8), like the river (John 7:37-39), etc. One interesting element in nature that God uses to reveal aspects of Himself is lightning. Lightning is one of the Bible's symbols of the immediate manifestation of God's glory, holiness, power, authority, judgment, revelation, victory, and supernatural activity. It communicates that heaven is breaking into the earthly realm with irresistible power. In this se
We can only walk with God, experience and encounter Him, if we walk in agreement with Him. One of the areas where we must be in agreement with God is in the words we speak. We must learn to declare who God is and what He has promised. When we do so, we are positioning ourselves to encounter His presence. In order to maintain our fellowship with God, (a)we must walk in the light, (b)we must walk in love and (c)we must walk with a clear conscience. In this sermon we consider private personal prayer - our time alone with God and what happens to us as we pursue God in this manner. We consider these five important changes: 1, Content in His presence. 2, Confronted by His presence. 3, Counseled in His presence. 4, Centered in His presence. 5, Cherished in His presence. Our private, personal time of prayer happens often in the prayer room. But we carry this with us through the day in ongoing conversations with the Lord. Maintaining a life of private personal prayer is yet another way we encounter His presence and life in His presence. This se

Meditating on God is one of the ways we pursue God and His Presence expressing our seeking, thirsting, longing, looking, and expecting to see/encounter God’s power and glory. And we know, when we seek Him, we will find Him. Biblical meditation includes reciting Scripture aloud, whispering Scripture to oneself, repeating it continually verbally or inwardly, pondering on it, visualizing it in our mind’s eye (imagination) and reflecting on how to obey it. It engages the mind, the mouth and the imagination and results in life change or life transformation. We share ways to practice Biblical medita
How do we experience the presence of God every day of our lives – especially in the busyness that we are in, Monday to Friday, the challenges, the ups-and-downs we face in daily life? Is it even possible? Or is the presence of God something we only experience on Sundays when we worship together or in some special prayer gatherings or perhaps occasionally in our personal time of prayer. It is possible to experience the presence of God at all times, just as much as we do, in sacred moments of intense worship. The question is how? In this sermon we discuss practicing stillness, a key to pursuing

What should you do when life’s battles get intense. Instead of calming down, the battle seems to get even more fierce. Instead of coming to an end, the battle seems to be extending with no end in sight. In this sermon we consider the spiritual dimension of the battles we face. We consider the insights and instructions presented in Ephesians 6:10-18. a) We are in spiritual conflict – we know we are in spiritual conflict. b) The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy – we know what the enemy seeks to achieve. c) The schemes, the evil day and all the fiery darts – we know that the devil comes wit

In this sermon we focus on the POWER of His resurrection and how this affects us as believers. The Bible presents a profound truth that we were identified with Christ in His resurrection. When Christ was raised up, we were raised up. Of course, we were not even born about 2000 years ago when Christ was resurrected. But in the mind of God, and in the spiritual realm, God placed a truth, a spiritual reality – that when we become believers, what took place about 2000 years ago becomes real for us and in us – spiritually. The power of Chrit’s resurrection affects us today – just as the power of Hi

In this sermon we point to the importance of expectation to having faith in God. We consider the accounts of the Roman Centurion and the Canaanite woman, in the Gospels and learn that great faith has great expectation. We also learn that often our past experiences can weaken or even destroy our expectation. We consider the father of the demon possessed boy and notice how Jesus did not sympathize with his unbelief, but Jesus challenged the father to believe in spite of his past experience. We then challenge us to expect miracles and minister for people to receive healing, deliverance and miracl

Prudence is wise foresight and strategic thinking. It is wise strategy applied before action and involves thinking ahead, avoiding traps and acting wisely in complex situations. Prudence could be used positively for good or negatively for evil. The Book of Proverbs is given to teach simple people prudence. In this message we consider eight characteristics of a prudent person: 1, be self-controlled (Proverbs 12:16) 2, be selective in speech (Proverbs 12:23) 3, be thoughtful in action (Proverbs 13:16, 14:8) 4, be discerning (Proverbs 14:15) 5, be teachable (Proverbs 15:5) 6, be kind in speech (P
