Just because we love our spouses and are happy to be their life partners does not mean that we coast through life with zero friction of conflict. Even the healthiest and happiest of marriages experience disagreements and arguments. Some would even argue that the presence of disagreements and arguments actually are symptoms that the relationship is healthy! In this week’s episode, Peter and Suah delve into some of the lessons they have learned while “fighting” with their spouses and take a look at what it means to “fight well.”
This week’s episode was inspired by Suah’s recent readings of the major prophets and the recurring theme of God being the only source of hope for His people. As Christians, we often speak of God or Jesus being our only hope and our ultimate hope, but what does this actually mean in reality? How does putting our hope in God impact the way we live our lives? Tune in to hear this week’s conversation.
TOne of the gravest errors we can make as Christians is to believe that spiritual formation only happens when we’re paying attention. We have an awesome guest with us this week! Jerome Dillard is Executive Director and one of the Founders of EXPO (Ex-Prisoners Organizing). In this episode, he shares his incredible story of incarceration, re-entry and God’s redemptive work in his life. He also shares about the work that he champions through EXPO, an organization that seeks to end mass incarceration, eliminate all forms of structural discrimination against formerly incarcerated people, and restore formerly incarcerated people to full participation in the life of our communities.
