When Jesus called ordinary fishermen to follow Him, He wasn’t simply inviting them to add something spiritual to the lives they were already living. He was calling them to leave what was familiar, surrender what defined them, and attach their lives completely to Him. That kind of discipleship has a cost. Following Jesus can reshape our priorities, relationships, comforts, security, and even the way we understand ourselves. Following Jesus is a joyful exchange.
