TFDNE - Disco at your Doorstep - Day 1 We are at the front door of Haldern Pop Bar. This is day1 of Haldern. The day you arrive in town and meet your old friends and make new ones. Also, you try to figure out which acts you should see.
We are getting ready for a field trip to Haldern. We will be at the festival doing serious reporting. Make sure to catch our daily show "Disco at your doorstep". While we are getting ready, we discover Richard has discovered something amazing. He has been chewing his food, which has given him a love for textures and flavors. But he has made a shocking discovery about eating crisps.
Time flies when you are working hard. But we managed to get together in one room and record some conversations. Richard tells us about his book and also his upcoming new one. Damian is recovering from an illness and is still a bit deaf. Marcel looks back at the after-festival dip. So, once to entertain you for an hour. Oh, and Richard and Damian are training for the Leiden Marathon.
It is the end of the year, and because we are not sure about the future look back at the last couple of months. We talk about the trips we did together or solo, about the new people we got to know, and the friends we ran into all over the world. We talk about books and records that inspired us and about a tank that will be driving around the breakfast table at Richard's.

We all went to a festival last week but it turned out to be a family gathering in Germany. A small town called Haldern that invited all their long lost family members and also some entertainment. Damian and Marcel tell you about their experience to be around Richard Foster. The published author but also performer. His backing band from Rotterdam called Rats on Rafts helped out. We also talk about dealing with festival life and how we manange to survive.
Back again with some real talk about losing friends and sharing memories. One of the reasons behind the whole podcast. But don't worry we drift off into all kind of directions and ended preparing a balcony picnic in the back alleys of Oegstgeest,
The guys are back and we have a good talk about walking. Richard just finished a walk and is very happy with his medal. We introduced a new segment in the show with the book we are currently reading and which album we are playing on our stereo. We also tried video but that is postponed because the recording failed.

Last time we talked about books and we touched the topic of movies. So today we focus on movies. About renting movies at a rentalshop, yes kids reallife Netflix. Also, the adventure of going to a movie theater and seeing the coming attractions, and sitting down in a big dark room with a bunch of people. We give you some movie tips and flashback to old classics. We know we forgot about your favorite movie so just leave us a message which one we should watch.
The future might a around the corner be the past is already written in books. All of us like to read books so it was bound to be a topic for us to talk about. We discuss reading from a book or with a kindle. The feeling of being surrounded by books and we pick our favourites. We also have a present for our lobster and he discovers a secret Marcel and Damian have had for the last couple months.
The idea was to talk about holidays but we got a little distracted and talked about a bunch of other stuff. We tried to return to days off, bank holodays, family trips but a pub crawl had to be discussed and other reasons to go drinking. In the end we asked the question if we feel like a tourist in our own town and if we get homesick.
Grownups Marcel and Damian get together for a serious conversation while kid Richard is outside playing. We talk about stuff that excites us, things we buy to make us feel happy. The joy of having a storage locker and what stuff you gather in a place like that. The important things in life. Also how close are we to our midlife crisis?
A start of the year with Damian and Marcel. We talk about our plans for the new year. Not really new years resolutions but just plans that should be dealt with during the upcoming 12 months. Also, the joy of solo travelling. Finally our plans for the podcasts.

Damian and Marcel again talking about 3rd of October. What is this Leicden thing all about. Also storires about working at fairs and memories of dancing, drinking and losing money. Inside view about rigged games and how to get the best deals. Conclusion that carnaval people are one big family and it's better that be friends with them.
Damian and Marcel get together while Richard is stuck in Krankenhaus. We talk about the collection of band shirts we gathered in the last bunch of years. Shirts of bands we saw live and not the Nirvana shirts you can buy at your local fashion center. We discuss our favorites and the rules attached to being a shirt collector.
It has been a while since we got together with the three of us. We did a really amazing one for you. It's about fish at least that started to conversation. We also discuss Damian being attack but a army of seagulls robbing him of his sandwich. We shocked Richard with the knowledge about balcony smokers. Which was all us getting ready for Damian and Marcel meeting the most important Lobster in the world.
Richard had to go do important business so Damian and Marcel are back together doing the podcast. We decided to talk about education, teachers and life lessons.
