What we watched: The Island. Who we watched it for: Ewan McGregor. What we thought: For a dystopian “thriller” about clone farms and capitalism, there is a surprising amount of optimism regarding what we might have been able to achieve as a society in fourteen short years. Also, the ethical question of giving your clone frosted tips is discussed.
What we watched: The Beach. Who we watched it for: Leonardo DiCaprio. What we thought: The environmental devastation this movie caused is nowhere near worth it for what we ended up with. Also, don't f*ck in a pod of shrimp, kids. It's not sexy...we don't care what Danny Boyle wants you to think.
