The Bitachon Podcast

Bitachon, trust, is one of the most essential and fundamental aspects of the Jew's relationship with his Creator. The more one develops his trust, the more Hashem shows him that He is personally involved in his life. This trust has many advantages, many of which are explored in this podcast. The style of the podcast is based on the tradition of teaching Bitachon received from Rabbi Yechiel Perr, who in turn received it from Rabbi Aron Kotler. This style includes real-life examples and stories, beside textual-based lessons in developing trust in Hashem.

One who trusts in Hashem has a twofold advantage - the first is relief from the constant worry about tomorrow and a true recognition that all my needs are met today. The second is that the individual who trusts God has the intrinsic 'title' of a 'Ba'al Bitachon' - someone who has the ultimate answer to any issue that can ever come up in one's life.

We tell the story of R' Zundel of Salant who found his new son-in-law by trusting in Hashem. The Alter tells us about the Astrologer-turned-convert whose faith wavered, but ultimately his Bitachon triumphed to help him.
Bitachon 5 - Hashem Can Do Anything

When someone has true trust in Hashem, that person is not dependent on the place or even on any other human being. We explore the story of the poor man who had a high standard of living and was questioned by Rava about it. His standard was being provided for by Hashem, as became clear from the story's climax. We discuss the concept of histapkus-satisfaction with what one has, as it interacts with the idea that one can have Bitachon for anything since Hashem can do anything.

We continue our discussion of Rava's visitor who was used to 'fattened chicken and old wine' who not only benefitted himself with his Bitachon, but also those who around him, who also enjoyed the delicacies. In the same way, someone who has Bitachon benefits himself and all those around him. Furthermore, we learn from the story that one can depend on Hashem even in a place where it is unlikely to receive what one expects.
