In Genesis 49, Jacob demonstrates his faith in God's covenant promises by prophetically blessing his sons and foretelling Israel's future.

As the famine becomes more intense as it draws to an end, we will see God give Joseph wisdom in crisis management skills, and see how God blesses Jacob in Egypt.

In Chapter 45, we see God’s purpose in everything that has happened to Joseph, both the bad and the good, revealed. God had a plan to elevate Joseph to a high position in Egypt in order to fulfil His purpose: to use Joseph to reconcile him with his family, and use him as a deliverer and protector of the nation of Israel.

But, in order to return, Benjamin must go with them, also Simeon is still being held there. Today we’ll see God’s plans are better than ours, and we need to trust Him fully.

Joseph is in the midst of a great trial of faith. He has been mistreated, misrepresented, falsely accused, and imprisoned. In the midst of it all, Joseph remained patient and kept his testimony intact. He did not see himself as a victim, but as a victor waiting for his freedom.
