Pastor Nate brings the message, "Favor for a Lifetime” from Psalm 30. God has unique ways of sanctifying us for the specific sins that are deeply rooted in our hearts. One such sin is the arrogance of self-confidence. Psalm 30 takes us through the progression of God's kindness to remove those prideful patterns from our lives and set our eyes on what truly matters.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "God’s Power, My Peace” from Psalm 29. There's a restful peace for the soul when you take the time to consider that God's awesome power surrounds you. Psalm 29 provides a front row seat to this divine power. Pray for the services this weekend and for God to draw our attention up to Him.
Pastor Stephen brings the message, "Constantly Crying Out” from Psalm 28. As we return to the book of Psalms for the next few weeks, we'll be reminded that these passages are filled with emotion. Psalm 28 shows us what we can do with that emotion. Whether we're in a period of desperation, exasperation, celebration, or supplication, this psalm shows us the value of responding in all of those periods by crying out to God. We honestly run to the rock of our protection, trusting by faith (and sometimes sight) that He hears.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Biblical Practices” from 1 Corinthians 16. You've seen how some people thrive in good practices and others dive in their bad practices. In our final study of 1 Corinthians, God's Word helps us see important Biblical practices for our own personal lives. Also, this Sunday we will recognize new deacons, our newest pastor, and observe the Lord's Supper.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Pressing On” from 1 Corinthians 15:50-58. Ever want to throw in the towel, especially the towel of the Christian life? In closing out 1 Corinthians 15, God's Word shows us that the resurrection of Jesus is more than enough motivation to keep going.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Christian, You're Gonna Rise" from 1 Corinthians 15:35-49. Death is like a dark curtain that, unless Jesus comes back, we'll all eventually walk through. And, naturally we have questions about it. The good news is that on this side of death Christians are given wonderful promises...promises that are anchored to the power of God...promises that give hope. This Sunday God's Word answers two questions for us: "How are the dead raised?", and "What will our bodies be like?"
Pastor Andy brings the message, "The Hopefulness of the Resurrection" from 1 Corinthians 15:20-34. Paul pivots to show the Corinthians the hopeful effects of the resurrection for their future and their present lives. Christ's resurrection has begun the inevitable march to the end, where God will reign unchallenged. But in the meantime, the bodily resurrection should cause us to live for God now.
Pastor Andy brings the message, "A Hopeless Christianity" from 1 Corinthians 15:12-19. Have you ever contemplated what life after death will be like? Paul will lead the Corinthian church down the rabbit hole of alternate reality if there is no bodily resurrection of all those who are in Christ. It is a hopeless picture. This will set up Paul's hopeful discussion in verses 20-28, which we will look at next week.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Remembering the Gospel” from 1 Corinthians 15:1-11. The resurrection of Jesus is what makes or breaks everything for us. This Sunday we begin 1 Corinthians 15 where God's Word begins unpacking so many wonderful Gospel themes. If you have friends you're witnessing to, it would be a good week to invite them.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Building Up the Church" from 1 Corinthians 14:1-25. This Sunday, we arrive at one of the most debated chapters in all the Bible, 1 Corinthians 14. While the topics of prophecy and tongues are certainly up for debate, there is a foundational truth that every Christian needs to pursue: the building up of the church. So, as we prepare to gather this Sunday, pray that God will cause His Word to be taught clearly and received humbly.
Pastor Nate brings the message, “Protecting Unity with the Lord’s Supper” - Part 1, from 1 Corinthians 11:17-22. We are returning back to chapter 11 for the next two weeks and studying the unity of the local church around the Lord's Table. The problem was that the Corinthians were so wrongfully divided that their practice of the Lord's Supper was actually invalidated. There are crucial lessons to learn and practices to apply within this important passage so that our church reflects Biblical, God-honoring unity.
Pastor Stephen brings the message, "The Importance of Love" from 1 Corinthians 12:28-13:1-8a. Scripture is filled with many beautiful passages that seem to be made for coffee mugs and decorative posters, and 1 Corinthians 13 could certainly fit into that category. But within this wonderful passage about love is also a difficult call - to live a life that models that beauty consistently in the world around us. So on Sunday, we'll not only talk about the beauty of biblical love, but also about the high calling this love places on our lives.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Belonging and Being the Body of Christ” from 1 Corinthians 12:12-27. The human body is a work of Creative Genius. Its connectivity and interdependence has the best doctors and researchers regularly amazed. God has so designed the church to be a body in its own way with each person being interdependent with others to live the Christian life.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The Spirit’s Unity in the Church’s Diversity” from 1 Corinthians 12:1-13. In our Christian "circles" we tend to minimize the Spirit of God. It might be that we've over-reacted to bad theology elsewhere, and are now missing the important role of the Spirit. However, it's crucial for every Christian to see that only by the Spirit can we truly be saved and united in Christ. (We'll come back to the second half of chapter 11 in a few weeks).
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Headship, Hair, and Cultural Expressions” from 1 Corinthians 11:2-26. Based on this passage, should we hand out head-scarves at the door for all women?
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The Good of Others, The Glory of God” from 1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1. How we view others might be the strongest indicator of how we view God. As we conclude another section in 1 Corinthians, God's Word helps us see that a God-glorifying life follows the example of Jesus who poured out His life for the good of others.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The Great Escape” from 1 Corinthians 10:11-14. Last week we covered the big picture of chapter 10. In this message, we come back to the center of the chapter and look more closely at the verses which speak to God's faithfulness in the midst of our temptation.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Run by Participating with Christ” from 1 Corinthians 10:1-22. The Christian life is sometimes metaphorically described as a race. And, one of the very important gifts that God provides us in the race is participation with Christ. This message looks at how the Christian life is energized by fellowship with our Savior.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Raised with Christ” from Colossians 3:1-4. In this Easter message, Pastor Nate takes time to share the events of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus along with important implications for Christians.
Pastor Andy brings the message, "Cross Walk" from Matthew 16:24-25. Before we celebrate the Resurrection, we will walk the road to the cross with Jesus. As we consider Jesus' journey, we will be challenged to live our lives in a manner consistent with his life.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Cultural Adaptability, Gospel Solidarity” from 1 Corinthians 9:19-27. How far will love for the unsaved go? In this passage, Paul shows us what it looked like to reach the lost with the uncompromising truth of the Gospel.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The Loving Way to be Right” - Part 2 from 1 Corinthians 9:1-18. We've all experienced the know-it-all who has to get his or her way. You don't find much peaceful unity around that person. This week God's Word helps us see the right way to be right. A gospel-driven love and humility will act for the well-being and good of others.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "The Loving Way to be Right’ from 1 Corinthians 8. Have you ever been around the kind of person who always has to be right? Even if he/she is right, they demonstrate the wrong way to be right. In the end, they are repugnant and people are polarized. Do Christians ever struggle with the battle to be right? In our new section of 1 Corinthians, God's Word gives us a path forward on how to be right through the practice of Christ-like sacrificial love.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Thriving in Christian Singleness” from 1 Corinthians 7:25-40. Do we put Christian marriage on a higher pedestal than Christian singleness? Is that how God thinks of singleness? In this message we finish the section (chapters 5-7) pertaining to marriage and singleness by seeing how God plans for Christian singles to thrive.
Pastor Nate brings the message, "Grow Where You Are” from 1 Corinthians 7:17-24. Is it a challenge to be content with your lot in life? It is easy to glance side to side, see the prizes that God has given to others, and wish we could have what they have. In this section of chapter 7, God calls us to realize that we ultimately have the greatest of gifts already so that we can thrive wherever He has placed us.
