We are not to keep the power of the Lord or the knowledge of the Lord to ourselves. We are to pass it on to the next generation. But who do we do this? In this message we talk about that, and it's easier that you think is.
We continue to look at the concept of family. God bringing together people, who would not normally come together, in Jesus and creating a family. In the family there are mothers. In Genesis 2 we see God created a helper for Adam. The word "helper" is used 19 times in the Old Testament, often defining God who comes to the rescue. Women, a helper isn’t someone defined by household duties, sitting in the background, or thinking of themselves as lesser than. In a culture that’s never been more connected; we are more isolated than ever. But Jesus didn’t die and rise again so that we’d be isolated. He wants to reunite family, and Jesus created a forgiven family through the cross. In the family of the forgiven there are fathers. The Bible ends with one of the most hopeful promises ever spoken: “behold, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5) Not some things. All things. Every broken relationship. Every lonely night. Every unanswered question. Every wound. Every loss. God is making all things new. And the end of the story isn’t isolation, it’s family. Children gathered around their Father. In this message we look at the reality that God has always been about forming a family. He longs to connect people in community.
As we remember Pentecost, we look at the amazing gift that we have been given in the Holy Spirit.

Paul wraps up his letter with some final remarks and a bunch of names, and while it can be easy to pass over this part of his letter there actually is a lot in it for us. In this last chapter we get a vision for being a community that is devoted to prayer and lives differently.
Following Jesus isn't a list of no's, but in fact Jesus shows us how to truly live. In Colossians 3 Paul shows us what our new life in Christ is supposed to look like. A life that is not a sub-culture, but truly counter cultural.
As people who have been raised to new life in Christ, how are we to live? In this message we talk about the important step of putting to death the old. As you listen to this message, what do you need to put to death? What do you truly need to let go of?
Who or what is the greatest treasure of your life? As we look at Colossians 3:1-17 we see that it's not a list to check off, but the fruit of a life that is devoted to Jesus.

Colossians. A letter written by Paul to a people he had never met, but he had heard of. He had heard of their allegiance to Jesus and their love for each other, which was motived by their hope in heaven. Simply put, their focus on the future impacted their every day life. This is the power of the Gospel at work. In this first message we talk about the Gospel being the power of God to change us and grow us.
What a dumb question? Or is it? Jesus' question was actually brilliant and gets to the heart... do we truly want to be healed? Do we truly want to change? Do we truly want freedom? In this story from John 5 we see the difference between the religious systems and the Kingdom of God. As you listen, may you truly respond to Jesus' invitation to be healed.
