"Confession should be a daily activity for the Christian, whose entire pilgrimage is characterized by the spirit of repentance." RC Sproul
In mixed marital arts... it's "Tap, Snap, or Nap" - in Christianity it is "not my will but Yours, Lord."
A person whose Bible is falling apart has a life that probably isn't.
"Trust in the Lord" is found over 180 times in the Old Testament alone... we need to be disciplined to trust God - His Plan. His Timing. His Will.
What does it mean to worship? Why does it fall under a "discipline?"
As we come off of celebrating 250 years as a nation, we must know that "celebration" is a spiritual discipline. The spiritual discipline of celebration involves recognizing and rejoicing in the goodness of God, which enhances our worship and strengthens our faith. It is a practice that brings joy, fosters community, and reminds us of the blessings in our lives, making it central to spiritual growth.
Time alone with God. Still. Silent. Listening. How hard is that for you?
The Christian Discipline of Simplicity is an inward reality that results in an outward life-style of generosity.
Today we look at the first two Spiritual Disciplines that will keep up rooted in Christ and built up in Him... PRAYER and FASTING.
Today we start our series on the Spiritual Disciplines to help up take our next steps with Jesus Christ. We focus on the foundational verse this morning... Colossians 2:6-7.
We have come full circle from the beginning of 1 Samuel and our look at the life of David. Israel wanted an earthly king to bring them identity, security, and happiness... and after two kings, they are still looking for it. 2 Samuel 24
The closing song of David's life "singing" of his HOPE, his SAVIOR, and his RESTORER in 2 Samuel 22-23
One of the big lies that many people believe today is... "my choices only affect me." - looking at David's life after his choices in 2 Samuel 11-12 we will see that is NOT TRUE. Today we look at 2 Samuel 13-21 in the "Life of David"
Never underestimate the power of sin, our ability to rationalize sin, or the consequences of sin. But never underestimate God’s saving grace given to us through Jesus Christ, the perfect King we all need.
2 Samuel 9 - David and Mephibosheth
In 1 Samuel 13 it is recorded that David is a man after God's own heart... we see that play out as we look at the first seven chapters of 2 Samuel
Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, HE IS RISEN, just as He said! Happy Easter everyone! Matthew 28:1-10
Today we will walk through the bitter end of Israel’s first king. King Saul held such promise in the beginning. But the longer he reigned, the more it became clear that he wanted God’s blessing much more than he wanted God. And Saul isn’t alone: In the church today, many people seem destined to miss heaven by 18 inches—the distance between your head and your heart.
We often have a choice... take matters into our own hands or wait on God. What will you choose?
One of our core values is... I CAN'T DO LIFE ALONE. What does Biblical Friendship look like in today's culture? Today we look at the relationship between David and Jonathan (and the bigger picture of how it points to Christ)
It would see that everyone knows the story of David and Goliath... but does everyone really know what it is all about? 1 Samuel 17 shows us four types of courage and a lot about Jesus
Have you ever had those points in your life where you wonder where God went? Times of inactivity that you don't know what God is doing, if anything? The good news, when it seems like God isn't doing anything is often when He is doing His greatest work
Saul had a great start, but a terrible finish. Join us as we look at what we can learn from the life of Saul in 1 Samuel 9-15.
