This week on the Love & Truth Network Podcast, Garry talks with Joshua Finley of Freedom Church about growing up between church and the world, battling insecurity, fear, and the need for approval. In part two with Brendon and Tabitha Ingraham, they share how sexual brokenness has shaped their marriage and the ongoing work God is doing to restore what has been wounded. They reflect on the failures of purity culture, the need for heart transformation, and the power of confession, accountability, and forgiveness in rebuilding trust.
In the first part of our interview with Brendon and Tabitha Ingraham from Covenant Church in Georgia, we hear how their very different childhoods led to deep wounds and struggles with sexual brokenness. They share honestly about their pain, the victories God has brought, and the unexpected way they first met.
Steve Goble of Desert Stream Ministries and Living Waters shares how childhood confusion, an unhealthy attachment to his mother, and difficulty connecting with men led to years of gender dysphoria, homosexuality, and a need for healing. Hear how he turned to embraced Christlike masculinity, and learned to keep an eye on the check engine light for God.
Andrew Comiskey, founder of Desert Stream and Living Waters, joins us to share his journey with same-sex attraction before coming to Christ, how he entered full-time Christian service, and how, with his wife's help, he started a ministry that has lasted more than 40 years. Andrew and Garry also discuss the world’s view versus the church’s view on same-sex attraction and sexual brokenness.
In part two of our discussion with Kyle Malkin, he reiterates the importance of allowing God to give and take away freely in all aspects of our lives; which provides a Godly perspective that rises above our worldly understanding. Kyle Malkin returns to continue his story of transformation. He shares with us his journey to freedom from sexual addiction, the importance of wise counsel through Godly mentorship, and the beautiful story of how he met his wife. When we talk with Christian's, we often focus on denomination, rules, and church activities, but forget the most important thing: the one truth that brings us all together. Jonathon Switzer joins us to discuss the importance of focusing on our common identity as the ekklesia—the Church, the Body of Christ—so that we can work together, be the salt of the earth, and build one another up in love.
Josh Glaser, on behalf of Regeneration Ministries, joins us this week to discuss how sexual brokenness is handled within the church, and why relationship, discipleship, and community are so essential. This conversation speaks to both married and single listeners, reminding us that God designed us to build one another up rather than remain isolated in regret and doubt.
In part two of this thoughtful conversation, Debra Baty and Garry Ingraham continue discussing medicalization versus talk therapy, including Finnish studies that support talk therapy. They also emphasize the importance of doing thorough research on both sides rather than focusing only on the negatives, and the church’s need to focus on the heart without pushing people away.
Once again, we have the pleasure of meeting with Debra Baty. In part one we explore how Christians can fall into the trap of underestimating the need for community and the Holy Spirit’s direction while trying to do God’s will using only their own strength and convictions. We also dive into the recent court ruling on gender-affirming therapy and its far-reaching implications for the United States.
Welcome to this week’s podcast on the Love & Truth Network (LTN). Garry and Jeremiah Sheppard discuss the current state of the church, what makes LTN different from other ministries addressing sexual brokenness, and the heart behind our focus. We hope this conversation offers fresh insight into the condition of the church and how we are seeking to equip the body of Christ.
This week we meet with Joseph Figliolia, an unbiased policy analyst specializing in the critical debate between affirming care and psychological care. He sheds light on the medical, ethical and cultural implications often overlooked in mainstream conversations, and provides a clear look at what the data actually shows. We hope this message gives you a better understanding of gender-affirming care.
Joseph Dallas returns to the podcast to share how God is using him not only in his community but around the world. Joseph discusses in depth the urgent need for discipleship and stewardship in the church, the growing lack of discernment in the body of Christ, how sin is being watered down in our culture, and the critical difference between wrestling with doubt versus sitting with unbelief.
Linda Seiler continues her story, finally confiding in someone about her struggles with same sex attraction and her desire to leave that life behind. Linda shares what she learned through her journey and research, including why Gender Dysphoria has become more common the past fifty years and what current studies reveal about gender identity and sexual orientation.
Linda Seiler experienced acute and severe gender dysphoria from her earliest memories. Convinced she was a boy born in the wrong body, she spent much of her early adolescence trying to figure out how to become male. With the onset of puberty, she began experiencing same-sex attraction. This caused years of pain and secrecy, convincing her she could never tell anyone what she was struggling with.
