We finish our series with Jesus’s final promise, that He is returning to make all things new soon. Ariane stirs our faith for how good this news is, what Jesus means by “soon”, and how we should shape our entire lives around this promise.
The promise of “It is finished” is that Jesus has completed his mission, fully revealed God’s love, paid the price for our sin, defeated the powers of darkness, and laid the foundation for his Church. Because His work is complete, we can live with confidence, freedom and rest in all that He has accomplished for us.
Stephen continues our summer series looking at some of the key promises of Jesus. He explores how the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the continuing presence of Jesus within the church fulfils his promise to be with us always to the ends of the age.
Rachel preaches about Jesus’ promise that those who come to him like little children will never be turned away. She challenges us to be humble and to be vulnerable both with others and with our Father in heaven even when this doesn’t come naturally, knowing that he is a Father who loves us and cares for us.
The story of Zacchaeus shows us how brilliant Jesus is at seeking and saving lost people, and He is still doing this today!
Devon’s preach focuses on how we as Christians can hear from God today and how we are held securely and given eternal life through Christ. He further spoke on how the ability to hear Jesus’ voice and the security of resting in his promise imposes a responsibility to continue the mission of the Church here on Earth – to spread the word all over the world and to be Salt and Light.
Chris preaches on the promise of Jesus from John 14:1-3 that even though we face troubles we can know that God has prepared a place for us and that he will take us to be with him there forever. He reminded us to look ahead, to think about where we’re going and the place God has prepared for us to help us persevere through the troubles we face in life.
Carrie kicks off our new preaching series on the promises of Jesus with Jesus’ promise in John 8:12 that whoever follows him will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life. We find that there is darkness within us and around us, but Jesus promises to shine his light into our hearts and to make us those who bring his light into the darkness around us.
Christians are called to be like the Israelites, following the presence of God wherever He leads. For us, it means allowing the Holy Spirit to act as our guide.
God is building the church, His dwelling place on earth. Just as He did with the Israelites in Exodus 35, God invites each one of us into this grand project, He equips all of us to bring a vital contribution, and He removes the barriers that hold us back from full, eager participation in His plans.
It may surprise us that God is content to advance His Kingdom little by little, but He has good reasons for doing so. Little by little, by faith, is not aimless but rather adds up and is accompanied by divine power.
In Exodus 25, God commanded His people to build everything according to the pattern He had shown them. Today, our pattern is a Person—Jesus Christ. Through Him we enjoy the Father’s love, are filled with the Spirit, and learn what it means to live as God’s people in the world.

God reveals Himself to Moses in Exodus 34 with five words that describe His character and explain His actions. Luke helps us to understand these and shows how Jesus fulfils them, so that we can be people who sing about God and introduce others to Him.
In Exodus we see the Israelites fail to have a personal relationship with God, and instead regard Moses both as their leader and their God. When Moses was away for 40 days to obtain the Ten Commandments, the people of Israel then turn to idol worship, making a golden calf. God will show great mercies to His people after Moses’ intercession; He showed this great mercy as He was looking ahead to the sacrifice that Jesus will make for sin by laying down His life. Great indeed are the mercies of God!
In this message Dan explores God’s desire not merely to save a people, but to dwell among them — from Eden, to the tabernacle, to Christ, and now through His Church by the Spirit. In a secular and often barren world, God is building an eternal dwelling place for His glory through ordinary willing people who make room for His presence together.
The commands God gave to His people in Exodus reveal His compassion and desire for justice. Luke looks at the principles revealed there and how they are developed through the rest of Scripture, and challenges us to make sure our heart and actions are in line with God’s.
The laws that God gave His people in the Old Testament can seem strange and confusing, but they are part of God’s good Word to us. Luke helps us to see how the New Testament writers teach us to understand and apply them.
The Ten Commandments are the famous description of how God’s people are to live. Steve shows us that they are far more life-giving than most people realise.
Karen preaches on what it means for us to be a kingdom of priests as a church today. As part of a royal priesthood we get to have bold access to God, we are called to offer our lives to God as a sacrifice, and we bring God’s grace to those around us.
