In this episode we're exploring something that quietly shapes who we are becoming: character. I’ve come to believe that character isn’t built in one great moment. It’s formed one choice, one decision, and one act at a time. I share lessons I learned from two important people in my life—my dad and my friend and mentor, Bob—and how their examples taught me about integrity, respect, humility, and doing right in our lives. I also revisit my “bent nail theory” and ask a simple question: How do the people around us experience our character?
What if purpose isn't something we find, but something we recognize? In this episode I'll be reflecting on the thread that has quietly woven its way through my life—from IBM leadership and mentoring to teaching, learning, and investing in others. Looking back I have discovered that purpose wasn't hiding at all; it had been walking beside me the whole time. I hope this conversation will invite each of you to reflect on your own journey, recognize the thread running through your lives, and consider what purpose may be inviting you to do next.
A few weeks ago, we began our journey of becoming. In this episode, let's slow down for a moment to ask a question that most of us have asked at one time or another: Who am I? Throughout our lives we collect titles and labels, but do they really define us? Through a few stories from my own life, I've come to believe that who we are is revealed far more by our character and our relationships than by any title we ever hold. I hope this conversation encourages you to spend a little time reflecting on your own answer.
Over the past few days I've found myself reflecting on a simple conversation that unexpectedly changed the way I look at my own life. As I replayed that conversation, I began to see that every success, every failure, every blessing, and every challenge had been quietly shaping who I was becoming. In this first episode of Season 5, I'd like to share that journey with you. My hope is that as we explore these ideas together, you'll begin looking at your own story through a new lens and discover that perhaps the greatest journey isn't about achievement—it's about becoming.
Sometimes the most important lessons come from experiences we'd rather not have. Today we're talking about a recent health scare that began with side effects from cancer treatment, led to a frightening episode of weakness, confusion, and low blood sugar. What seemed like something minor quickly became a situation that could have ended very differently. Today I want to share the dangers of ignoring warning signs, the importance of seeking medical help when something feels wrong, and why taking care of ourselves is not a sign of weakness — it's a responsibility we owe to ourselves and those who
Artificial Intelligence is everywhere. Some people see it as the next great technological breakthrough, while others view it with caution and concern. In this episode of Imagine the Possibilities, we'll reflect on my lifetime of technological change—from the early days of personal computers and smartphones to today's rapidly evolving world of AI. Drawing on my own personal experiences, including my cancer journey and decades in the technology industry, we'll explore the difference between information, understanding, and wisdom. More importantly, discover a question that may matter more than an
Some of us dream about what could be. Others feel most alive when they’re taking action. But what if most of us are actually both? In this episode I reflect on the space between dreaming and doing — and why the distance between the two may not be as large as we think. Through personal stories, reflections on the Wright brothers, and thoughts about belief, growth, and understanding, this episode explores how dreams are shaped… and how they shape us in return. Maybe success isn’t about leaping forward. Maybe it’s simply about taking the next step.
What if the grass isn’t greener somewhere else… What if we’re just not seeing ours clearly? In this episode of Imagine the Possibilities, I share a simple story that turned into something more—one that began early one morning… with an unexpected visitor. What started as a quiet moment became a reflection on how often we overlook what’s right in front of us. Through that experience, I explore how our focus shapes our perspective—and how what we’re searching for might already be here.
What are we really worth? It’s a question most of us don’t ask out loud—but it’s one we feel in quiet moments. In a world that constantly measures value through numbers, comparisons, and outcomes, it’s easy to start believing that our worth is something that can be calculated. In this episode, we take a step back and explore how value is assigned in business, how it shows up in our work, and how easily we can begin to apply those same measurements to ourselves. But what if our worth was never meant to be measured at all?
In a world overflowing with information, why does understanding feel harder to find than ever before? In this episode of Imagine the Possibilities, we explore the growing gap between what we know and what we truly understand. Information is everywhere—instant, constant, and overwhelming—but understanding requires something different: time, reflection, and space. Together, we’ll slow things down and examine how we process what we hear, see, and believe. Because the goal isn’t to know more, it’s to understand better. And sometimes, the most powerful step we can take is simply to pause and let un
