In this week's sermon we conclude our series "Peacemakers" by looking at the difference between being a peacemaker and a peacekeeper. Too often we can easily fall into the prior category by not getting involved or interfering in order to keep the peace. However, this silence doesn't create or even keep peace but just lets things go about as normal. We need to follow Jesus' example of making peace. We're glad that you made it to this sermon! In this week's sermon we address the "A" in DRAW Near as we learn how to "Ask" in prayer. We do this by looking at 1 Timothy 2:1-4 as it shows us how to make requests for ourselves as well as others. We often tend to go to one extreme or the other when it comes to requests in prayer: we only ask, or we feel that asking is selfish and don't do it. We dig in to Luke 15:1-7 as well as Philippians 2:12-18 to see how we as the church should respond to those who don't know Jesus. As the parable of the lost sheep illustrates for us, we should intentionally seek those who don't know Jesus and share God's love with them.
