Continuing our series in the Proverbs, Josh Kouri exhibits the warnings of pride, the first and essence of the seven deadly sins, and its trappings against the promises of humility, the first and essence of the seven heavenly virtues, ultimately showing the path of humility as demonstrated by Jesus, emptying himself to take on the form of a servant.
Proverbs presents Lady Wisdom and Lady Folly as two competing invitations—one leading to life, truth, and flourishing through submission to God, and the other through deception and seduction to destruction—calling us to reject folly, repent, and cling to wisdom ultimately embodied in Jesus.
The ascension of Jesus reveals that He is the victorious King who owns and reigns over all things, and because He alone has clean hands and a pure heart, those who trust in Him can confidently enter God’s presence and live with hope.
