Water Baptism is an ordinance of the church. It is the outward sign of an inward transformation. It was not invented by John the Baptizer or the Apostles. The practice has deep roots in the Old Testament including characters like Noah, Moses, Naaman, and Jonah.
Sarah's Death in the Genesis narrative is easy to overlook, but there is more to the story. Her burial site was the first purchased parcel of the promised land. She and other main characters in Genesis are buried there and it becomes a memorial marker to the goodness of God in the story of His people. Genesis 23:1-9,19-20.
